 Title:- Effect of COVID-19 on student's attitude towards digital media literacy and critical thinking and shaping their capacity to recognise trusted sources and evaluate in the digital age.

The COVID-19 had brought many challenges to education systems worldwide. With the shift to remote learning, student's attitude towards digital media literacy and critical thinking have been influenced. This blog delves into the impact of pandemic on student's ability to recognise credible sources and evaluate in the digital age.

The pandemic accelerated the adoption of new tools for education,information and learning. They develop skills to navigate information and filter out misinformation.

The educators play a vital role in shaping student's attitude towards digital media literacy and critical thinking. They must adopt different teaching methods to increase student's skills in a virtual environment. By incorporating activities that encourage source verification and critical analysis, educators empower students to be the knowledgeable consumers of information.

As students adapted to the virtual environment,they gained a sense of consent over their own education. They realised that, they cannot consume passive information in virtual environment. So they decided to engage actively with it. This active engagement fostered a deep understanding of material,questions and connections between ideas.

Critical thinking played a vital role in shaping student's attitude towards digital media literacy and critical thinking. Students were compelled to think critically about sources and questioning the logic of information  presented. This equipped them with valuable skills.

Educators recognise the importance of enhancing student's digital media learning and critical thinking skills. They integrated many specialized courses and workshops focusing on source evaluation and development in information. This helped them to take decisions in a world of more information.

Before the pandemic, many students used digital media for entertainment and communication without knowing the critical sources. The sudden reliance on digital platforms brought a change in student's attitudes towards digital media literacy and critical thinking skills.

As a result, COVID-19 pandemic served as a catalyst for student's attitude towards digital media literacy and critical thinking. Student's consuming of information evolved from passive to active information.
