EFFECT OF COVID-19 ON STUDENTS' OUTLOOK ON GLOBAL INTERCONNECTEDNESS AND CULTURAL EXCHANGE

The COVID-19 was one of the world's most destructive viruses. It brought about many changes in everyday life and activities.
When COVID-19 first started spreading to other areas of the world, activities like tourism, shopping, education, going to work, etc were affected.Due to the pandemic, many people's lives changed drastically.
Due to lockdowns, people couldn't go outside often or meet people.Schools and offices started shifting to online classes and work from home jobs.
Students lives also drastically changed as students can't go to school physically but instead had to attend online classes.
Many people found new ways of connecting with other people like through social media like for example: Instagram, Twitter,Discord and many other platforms.
Some students struggled with these changes in the education sector. Many factors like not having the required device for attending online classes and not having good internet service had a bad effect on their grades.
Students also couldn't meet with friends due to the pandemic and could only meet people through social media. But social media often led them to open content and parents restricted their children to use social media or go outside fearing these factors. As a result their outlook on global interconnectedness and cultural exchange changed dramatically.
As COVID-19 and its effects on the world is going down, lockdowns were removed and students should be physically present in school and online classes were discontinued in many schools. Many students struggled with this and many students socialising skills were affected due to lockdowns. But students somehow managed to overcome this obstacle and adapt to offline classes.Soon, their outlook on global interconnectedness and cultural exchange changed positive.
As the world recovers from the pandemic, the lessons learnt should be kept alive and students should understand the importance of global interconnectedness and cultural exchange. They are the citizens of the future and only they can make a change towards a more optimistic, United and a understanding world.
