STUDENTS CENTERED-APPROACHES IN VIRTUAL CLASSROOM

 INTRODUCTION:

The sudden change from offline to virtual classes gave us all an great opportunity to experience and explore the technology. During the gradual rise of Corona virus, when the 144 rule was implemented, schools and colleges were shut down and classes continued to be held online through Zoom, GMeet, etc. It was completely new for both the teachers and learners and it took a quite long time for everyone to get adopted to it. The main aims of schools and colleges were to make the class lively and interesting. Teachers learnt many new methods to make the virtual classroom as interesting as possible. There are a few methods which actually did worked and helped the learners to learn the concepts faster in the simplest way.

1. HAVING AN INTERESTING AND ACCESSABLE TIMETABLE:

Creating an timetable was a easy job, but following it and staying consistent to it is the most difficult one. So, it is advisable to have an accessible timetable. When the daily class timetable was an accessible one, students will automatically attend the classes with some enthusiasm.

2. HAVING BREAKS IN BETWEEN THE CLASSES:

Having breaks in between each session will let the students to get some relaxation and to make themself ready for the next session. Having water breaks between the class will help the students stay hydrated and will boost up their concentration level.

3. TEACHING BY SHOWING PPTs, VIDEOS, PICTURES, ETC:

When the teacher teaches blankly by writing something on the board, it will definitely be boring for the students. Instead, if they teach by showing PPTs, videos and pictures related to that topic, it will be interesting and the students will learn the concepts faster then before.

4. HAVING MINIMUM NUMBER OF STUDENTS IN EACH SESSION:

Having minimum number of students in each session will let the teacher to give his/her attention to all the students. It will let them know whether everyone understood the concept or if there anyone who was lagging behind. Teachers may have to take a couple more classes for the left out students but this method helped the learners in many ways.

5. HAVING AN INTERACTIVE SESSION AFTER EVERY CLASS:

Having interactive session between every class will help in developing a sought of understanding between the learners and the teachers. During this session, teachers can ask questions about what was taught that day and can give a out look about the next class and students can solve their doubts too.
